The World War II Veteran Williams Pekrul Is Being Survived By Wife Rose Mary Pekrul

Pekrul was a grand marshal of the Veterans Day Parade in Milwaukee.

William Pekrul was one of the speakers presented at the Republican National Convention 2024, which was held at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He was scheduled to speak between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The theme for the convention night was “Make America Strong Once Again.”

During an Interview with the War Memorial Center,

Pekrul remebered his time in Belgium, when his feet froze overnight after a heroic act.

He pulled his leader, who had been shot, into a basement, where they awaited all night in below-zero temperature as German soldiers walked across the floors above.

Later, he spent one and a half months in an English hospital, where his feet healed. He then returned to the 7th Infantry and fought until the end of the war.

William Pekrul Is The World War II Veteran

William Pekrul, aka Bill Pekrul, 98, was born in 1926. He currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

According to his Facebook handle, he studied at WCTC – Waukesha Country Technical College and then signed up for the U.S. Army at Boys Tech High School, now Bradley Tech, in 1943.

He was listed in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 while World War II was at its peak.

In June 1944, he got injured during the assault on Normandy and stayed at the hospital for around 42 days.

Previously, William Pekrul also worked at General Motors and took retirement in 1987.

In 2019, Pekrul served as a grand marshal of the Veterans Day Parade in Milwaukee.

Recently, during the interview, William spoke to the generations after him and said,

 “In my time there were more patriotic people than today.”

He also added,

it is Americans’ duty to serve in war when called, but ultimately “wars solve nothing.”

William Pekrul Has Been Married For Over Seven Decades

A World War II veteran tied the knot with his beautiful wife, Rose Mary Pekrul, in 1948. They have been spending a married life supporting each other for over 76 years.

William and Rose Mary were blessed with 11 children; five of them are sons, and six are daughters.

However, Pekrul hasn’t revealed personal details about his children and has been kept away from social media.

His family is originally from the United States of America and belongs to the white ethnicity.

Talking about religion, the Pekrul family has faith in Christianity. In addition, his family has crossed five generations.
