Marty Simper was born in 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in Elko, Great Basin, Nevada.
Marty graduated from Spring Creek High School in his hometown.
On the other hand, Jodi Carter Simper was born and grew up in Park Valley, Utah.
On December 26, 2016, Jodi accepted Marty’s ring proposal and married on January 28, 2017.
Jodi is a roper and has an affinity for horses as much as Marty, proving their compatibility.
Marty and Judi lived in a beautiful house with their two sons in Tremonton, Utah.
Marty Simper’s Successful Horseriding Journey Since the Late 1990s
Marty had been passionate about horses since he was a kid; thus, in his teenage years, he became a cowboy on the ranches and started colts.
Marty exhibited horses in AQHA all-around events and bridle horse classes at events such as Elko County Fair.
In his early 20s, he worked under reputed horse trainers Mike Dunn, Larry Larsen, Clark Parker, and Bret Ston.
Moreover, he was highly influenced by the philosophies of icons such as Tom and Bill Dorrance, Ray Hunt, and Bill Van Norman.
Marty obtained winning enthusiasm and a work ethic from his supportive parents, who underpinned him in the rodeo arenas and show ring.
In 2001, he ventured into the horse training business and named it Marty Simper Show Horses. He specializes in all-around and ranch versatility horses and riders.
Simper has excelled as a professional horse trainer; more specifically, he is an AQHA Professional horseman and current Utah Quarter Horse Association president.
Moreover, he has received the titles of APHA Reserve World Champion and Futurity Champion and AQHA-VRH, NRCHA, WCHA, and WSVRHA judge.
Due to his exceptional talent, he is a part of multiple horse-related organizations.
Listing a few of them, Marty is the current Board of Directors for the Utah Paint Horse Club and the Utah Horse Council.
In addition, he was vice president of the Utah Quarter Horse Association and is a current member of AQHA Team Wrangler.
Marty has trained many horses and riders to championship levels; most recently, he provided training at the 2016 AQHA World Show.
The professional horse trainer works and trains at Heritage Ranch & Stallion Station in Farr West, Utah.
