Late Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald’s Family Had Sued Miles Pfeffer’s Parents

Miles Pfeffer was handcuffed for the demise of a Temple University Police Sergeant, Christopher Fitzgerald, on February 18, 2023. He was only 18 at the time of the tragic event.

The office of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said on Wednesday that he will not seek Miles Pfeffer’s execution.

Miles Pfeffer, a Buckingham Township, Bucks County resident, wasn’t in the courtroom for his stand trial. However, his attorneys entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf.

Christopher Fitzgerald, a father of four, was chasing three suspects after a series of robberies and carjackings in the area.

He caught up with Miles and ordered him to the ground. Meanwhile, Miles fired at him six times, taking his life.

Christopher’s family was notified regarding the decision not to seek the d**th penalty, and their pain was amplified knowing the news.

Moreover, his wife Marissa, father Joe, mother Pauline, and the Temple University Police Association called the decision devastating.

Miles Pfeffer’s father is a businessman, and his mother is a housewife. His parents are of mixed ethnicity and follow the Christian religion.

They relocated to the Boxley Farm along Quarry Road four years ago.

According to the County property records list, in November 2018, Jill co-owned the 20-acre property Boxley Farm in Buckingham.

Miles was arrested at his mother’s suburban home for the charge of carjacking and the demise of Christopher.

Authorities found multiple weapons, and Jill was taken in for questioning after authorities raided the family home.

Miles’s brother, Dean Pfeffer, who ducked into an alley and hid, saw the officer chase him and then heard gunshots.

Miles ran to the 1800 block of Montgomery Avenue and threatened to eliminate a person if he didn’t hand over his car keys. Later, that car was recovered in the 1900 block of North 30th Street.

His mother picked up him at 29th Street & Ridge Avenue and drove home.

The family of the late Sergeant says Miles’s family could have prevented Fitzgerald’s demise. They have sued his parents and could be held liable for damages.

The Defender Association of Philadelphia represents Miles Pfeffer, and his next court hearing is scheduled for July 31.
